About Mark

Mark Herbick is the Founder and CEO of Pursant, LLC, a middle-market advisory firm specializing in M&A, private capital market financing, transaction advisory services, financial leadership support, and business value enhancement consulting. Since founding Pursant in 2010, Mark has combined the perspective of a serial entrepreneur with the discipline of a dealmaker to guide business owners and dealmakers through navigating strategic transactions and complex financial matters, exit planning, and business value optimization.

When not steering the direction of Pursant, Mark devotes his time to his four children, and grandchildren. He is a world-ranked CrossFit athlete and fitness racer.

As CEO of Pursant, Mark and his team have collectively advised on hundreds of engagements, drawing on experience that spans from Wall Street to boutique firms. Their clients are private middle-market companies and sophisticated investors across numerous industries, all seeking to maximize outcomes at pivotal moments.

Building Enterprise Value

Before founding Pursant, Mark founded, bought, sold, and operated more than a dozen companies across multiple sectors. He grew his businesses through acquisitions, strategic divestitures, and organic expansion, operating at local, regional, and national levels. This experience shaped his belief that building enterprise value is a process that begins long before a transaction — and that acquiring and selling requires an entirely different skillset than operating.

Mark is a Certified M&A Advisor through the AM&AA and a Harvard Business School alumnus. He is also an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), where he has served in numerous governance roles.

Speaker and Commentator

Mark is also a frequent speaker and commentator on M&A markets, business value maximization, exit strategy, and deal execution. He has delivered keynotes and sessions for organizations such as Young President’s Organization (YPO), universities such as the University of Louisville, Northern Illinois University and Columbia Business School, middle market companies and numerous industry associations.
